Palouse Medical maintains the same goals today that it has had from the beginning; to provide local access to comprehensive, professional health care for area residents, and meet patient health care needs on an individual and personal level. This is further demonstrated as we take look at the history of our practice.
How it all began…
Palouse Medical was created from the combined vision and goals of four separate and locally owned medical practices. These practices felt passionately that by collaborating together and merging their Internal Medicine and Family Medicine clinics, they would be able to offer a comprehensive health care package and increase patient access to health care services along the full spectrum of patient care. During these early discussions each practice identified their concerns and goals. It was their shared desire to provide more services and better meet patient needs on a local level that served as the motivation for creating a multi-specialty clinic.
Having earned the necessary respect and trust from patients and the community throughout the years, the right dynamics were in place for the success of a merger of this magnitude. In the discussions that followed, they began developing plans to facilitate a merger that would help them achieve their shared model of “ideal” patient care.
Keeping the best interests of the community at heart, a longtime Family Medicine practice teamed up with three equally respected Internal Medicine practices in August of 1998. This union began the merging and formation of the organization that we know today as Palouse Medical.
