What Brought You To The Palouse?
“My husband and I spent four years in Pullman while completing our undergraduate degrees at Washington State University–Go Cougs! Dr. Brenna Harris embodies the definition of a true Pacific Northwestern Girl. Born and raised in the small farm town community of Kittitas, Washington, she developed a deep appreciation for rural life and love of agricultural communities that has remained with her throughout the years. During High School, she moved to Ridgefield and lived outside of Seattle in Issaquah, Washington and moved to the Pullman to pursue her undergrad studies at WSU. Even though her medical degree took her to California, these deep ties and her strong desire to return to the Pacific Northwest to raise her family and practice medicine was always present! We are grateful this goal remained intact, as did state that they absolutely loved being Season Pass holders at one of their favorite places, Disneyland!
No strangers to the Palouse, they are thrilled to live in an environment that offers all the amenities of the bigger cities, but can still maintain that ‘small town’ feel! They are especially happy that they won’t have to sacrificing children’s education. After spending years living near Los Angeles and Seattle, the Harris family is really looking forward to the lack of traffic and to be able to settle down where they can be active residents and engaged in all that their community has to offer. Still a small town girl at heart, Dr. Brenna Harris went into Primary Care, Family Medicine and OB care so that she could develop long-lasting relationships with patients and their families. As a parents of three awesome kids, 1 girl and 2 boys, she states that even the kids are excited to be moving. In fact, her daughter calls the sunsets on the rolling hills of the Palouse, the “beautiful cotton candy sunsets” and they can’t wait to enjoy more of these throughout the years!
Outside Of Work
Outside of work, Dr. Harris enjoys spending as much time as possible with her amazing family! Having three small kids at home, they keep life full and busy when she is not at work. They try to stay as active as possible and enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities, such as: biking, exploring, camping, hiking and even whitewater rafting. Whenever possible, they enjoy traveling to new locations, attending sporting events and concerts.
