What Brought You To The Palouse?
“The Palouse region is rich in culture, resources, and is a beautiful sight to behold. Even after decades living here I feel like I am still learning more about our area all the time! I love how our communities look out for each other and take care of our own. I will never forget how we all threw on our work boots and headed into Palouse to fill sandbags to protect downtown from washing away during the horrendous floods back in the 90’s. I love that we all stepped up and worked together, even if you didn’t know anyone. As a member of the Moscow community, I regularly volunteer as an EMT responding by ambulance for emergencies. It feels amazing to live in a place where the rest of the community enjoys being as engaged and to I know that neighbors would jump in and help if we were ever in need. That’s the heart and power of those who live on the Palouse!”
As a Physician Assistant, Andrew has a background as an EMT, Athletic Trainer, has been specially trained to provide Wound Care services and has 5 years of experience working in the ReadyCare setting, where he provided urgent care for minor illness and injuries. Andrew has been determined to continue to pursue as much training as he can and continue learning. When an opportunity opened up for him to join our Internal Medicine Team, he was thrilled to be able to start providing Primary Care.
Graduating from WSU with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology, he continued on to complete the MEDEX Northwest Physician Assistant program at the University of Washington and then joined Palouse Medical’s ReadyCare Team. More information to come.
No stranger to the Palouse, Andrew was born in the old Pullman Memorial Hospital that used to be up on the WSU Campus. He spent the first decade of his life living in Pullman, then moved out to Palouse. He then moved to Moscow and has been living there for more than 15 years.
Throughout this time, he has thoroughly enjoyed staying engaged and connected to our community and remain an active local volunteer in as many capacities as he is able. Life in the Palouse provides a great place to establish a family! Lucky for him, roots were already firmly in place, so he states that, “while I didn’t have much of a choice where started out, it has always been an obvious to me on where I would end up!”
Outside Of Work
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys spending as much time as possible with his amazing family, with his four wonderful children and fantastic wife.
