Personal Information
The Lytle family is excited to have moved to the Palouse and finally settle down! He and his wife joke that they “christened” each place they moved (Idaho, Nevada & Washington) with a new child and are now proud parents of three wonderful young boys. No stranger to our area, Dr. Justin Lytle was born and raised in Colville, Washington and is the eldest of 8 children.
“I remember first visiting Pullman when I was back in high school for a couple of baseball games. As a team, we were so excited, because we were undefeated for two seasons — except for the losses we accrued while competing against the Pullman High School baseball team.”
Shortly after graduating high school, he spent two years in Japan as a missionary in Kobe, Japan, where he learned to speak the language and fell in love with Japanese culture and the people he served. He also claims that during this time, he was introduced to and experienced some of the best food he has ever eaten. After returning home from his mission, he left Colville to head off to BYU-Idaho to pursue his undergraduate education. This is also where he met and married his beautiful wife!
After graduating with their bachelor’s degrees, they moved to southern Nevada so he could attend and complete medical school, but were ecstatic to have the opportunity to return to Washington for his residency training in western Washington!
Outside Of Work
Outside of work, Dr. Lytle enjoys spending as much time as possible with his wife and three children! They enjoy playing together and absolutely love the outdoors! They are anxious to continue being actively engaged in their community and attend local events, theater productions, comedy events, and celebrate the arts.
Dr. Lytle loves music and has played clarinet, trumpet in symphonic and jazz band during high school and even served as as a Chorister at his church. More recently, he has expanded his skills into the realm of stringed instruments and enjoys playing acoustic guitar, bass guitar and even the ukulele!
As an avid baseball fan, Dr. Lytle played throughout high school, college and has taken every opportunity to help coach little league teams as often has his schedule would permit! The Lytle family is thrilled by the prospect of all the increased access that they will have to attend our local sporting events!
